Adventures in Story Time
Stories, songs and craft activity
Tuesdays 10:30 am
In this new edition of Story Time, your child will enjoy books, songs, and a craft designed around a theme. Each weekly video is a chance to practice reading readiness skills like listening during stories, letter awareness and predicting.
Supplies for the craft featured in the video are available for pickup through curbside. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come first-serve basis. Themes in January include: New Books, Soup, PJ's, and Snowmen.
Story Time in Español
¡La biblioteca pública de Billings ahora ofrece La Hora de Lectura en español! Billings Public Library now offers Story Time in Spanish.
We are excited to partner with Justin, a MSU- B student, who learned Spanish while living in Argentina, to share your favorite picture books in Spanish. Join us on the Billings Public Library’s YouTube Channel on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month at 10:30 am and explore the Spanish language.
January Take and Make: Origami
January’s Take and Make kit is Origami! The kit will be available via curbside starting January 4th. The kits will include all the supplies needed to for one child to make several origami projects and are intended for children ages 6-12. Kits are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Family Reading Program
Billings Public Library’s 24th annual Family Reading Program will begin January 19th.
Family Reading is designed to encourage families to develop the habit of reading aloud together. Studies have shown that children who are read aloud to have improved language skills and are more successful in school. During the program families will read together for 20 minutes a day for 20 days. Families registering for the program will receive a book bundle to start the reading journey. Families completing the program will receive coupons to local businesses as supplies last and will be entered into a drawing for a special grand prize.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Do you have a child not yet in kindergarten? Sign up today and foster a love of reading at an early age. Infants, toddlers, and preschoolers are all encouraged to participate.
