    January 23, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ 2nd floor Reading Room

    The Turning Page reads books from the Library's book club kit collection, and meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month (except for a couple of hiatus months during the holidays and summer). Each kit contains 10 copies of the book, and are available on a first come, first served basis BUT readers are always welcome to obtain their own copy and join the fun!

  2. Tai Chi for Everyone presented by the Taoist Tai Chi Society of Billings

    In the Taoist tradition, a person's health depends on the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. The Taoist Tai Chi arts exercise the entire physiology, including the tendons, joints, connective tissue and the internal organs. Attendees should wear comfortable clothing that allows movement, including grip-less, flat-soled shoes, and should be prepared to sign a waiver.

    We are the library's fiber arts enthusiasts who knit, crochet, embroider, spin, felt, and generally love fiber arts. We get together the second Tuesday and fourth Thursday of every month to talk about what we enjoy the most and share projects. If you're a newbie at the fiber craft game, we can help you learn!     Join the Billings Public Library Board of Trustees to launch the week celebrating the library building’s 5th birthday. Take a step back in time to find out how the building came to be with a panel discussion moderated by Board Chair Roger Young. Hear the stories of the rewards and the challenges shared by retired Library Director Bill Cochran, retired Board Chair Shari Nault, Building Committee Chairs Frank Cross and Lloyd Mickelson, and Board Member Bill Lamdin. Then for the future? Library Director Gavin Woltjer will share his visions.

    Join us in welcoming Kevin Kooistra, Executive Director of the Western Heritage Center, for a look at the Library's 117-year history, which began in 1901 as a donation by the Billings family in memory of their son Parmly. We'll look at how the Library shaped our city, and was shaped by Billings in return.
