Good Neighbor Toolkits

Billings Public Library has always been a place for connection—where people come together to explore, learn, and connect. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Healthy by Design Coalition and Grown in Billings to offer the Good Neighbor Toolkit for checkout!

What is it?

The Good Neighbor Toolkit is designed to foster meaningful connections and promote health in Yellowstone County through neighborhood gatherings and block parties. It provides everything you need to plan and host a community event, from guides and templates to games and signage.

Why It Matters

The toolkit helps address social drivers of health, such as:

  • Access to safe housing and neighborhoods
  • Access to nutritious foods
  • Opportunities for physical activity

Neighborhood block parties encourage safety, healthy habits, and social connection. They also give children chances to meet caring adults outside their families—building Positive Childhood Experiences that can help offset the long-term impacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences.
